A. Terms and Conditions
The purchase of entry tickets or services for film showings or other events at Mid Town Cinemas ("the Cinema") is strictly subject to the following Terms and Conditions. By purchasing or reserving an entry ticket or any services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. For any queries or clarifications, please contact a member of staff or email us at marketing@midtown.com.np. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
A.1. Glossary
- The Cinema/Cinemas - Refers to the "Mid Town Cinemas" or, for which tickets can be purchased through the Website and Box Office at Mid Town Galleria.
- Terms and Conditions - These Terms and Conditions govern the purchase of tickets for Mid Town Cinemas via the website www.midtown.com.np and the Mid Town Cinemas Mobile Applications and the box office, including any amendments made by the Website Operator.
- Website - The official Mid Town Cinemas website at www.midtown.com.np, including the Mid Town Cinemas Mobile Application, managed by Mid Town Galleria, along with other websites and applications owned or operated by or on behalf of Mid Town Galleria.
- Mobile Application - An app provided by Mid Town Cinemas available for download from the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).
- User - Any person who uses the Website and Services.
- Customer – Any person who purchases a cinema ticket, attends the show, or uses any services provided by the Cinema.
- Privacy Policy - The principles governing the collection, processing, storage, and protection of Users' personal data.
- Account - An individual online account for the User, where the User's registered data is collected. The terms of access and use of the Account are detailed in the Privacy Policy.
- Services - The various offerings provided by the Cinema, including but not limited to ticket sales, food and beverage options, and any other facilities or activities made available to customer.
A.2. Ticketing and Pricing
- Ticket prices and Concession prices are those displayed at the time of purchase. All prices include applicable Value Added Tax. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.
- Tickets are subject to availability and are non-refundable if the film screening goes ahead as scheduled. In exceptional circumstances, refunds may be considered at the discretion of management.
- Tickets may be purchased online via Mid Town Cinemas' official website or through authorized partners, via authorized mobile apps, or directly at the cinema box office.
- Mid Town Cinemas reserves the right to modify advertised show times or programs without obligation to refund or exchange tickets.
- All tickets remain the property of Mid Town Cinemas.
- Ticket bought at the Box Office are in printed form.
- Tickets may be delivered via E-Ticket format as a PDF attachment containing ticket information and a QR code for venue entry/MTC Rewards. Tickets can be scanned from the mobile devices or printed.
- Tickets purchased for Mid Town Cinemas are valid only for the specified auditorium, either East Hall or West Hall, and for the specific date and time of the screening indicated on the ticket. Customers must check ticket details at the time of issue or collection. This applies to both physical tickets and digital confirmations for online bookings; no refunds will be given for errors identified later.
- Tickets are non-transferable and must not be resold or used for any commercial purpose without the written permission of the Cinema. Any tickets found to have been resold may be cancelled without refund.
- Purchase of tickets for guests by the buyer, not for commercial gain, does not breach transfer restrictions. The buyer remains responsible for guests' compliance with these terms.
- Tickets and food once purchased cannot be cancelled, exchanged, or refunded. In case of system errors or technical faults, the Cinema may, at its discretion, offer an exchange or refund.
- Payment for a ticket ordered through the Website is made by means of available payment services, where the User will be redirected immediately after placing the order, on the terms set out in the regulations for making payments in payment services.
- The User has the possibility to pay for the ordered Tickets only by means of payment methods made available by available payment services.
- Any transactions made from a third-party payment vendor are subject to the standard and specified terms and conditions mentioned by that particular vendor. The Cinema is not responsible for any issues arising from such transactions.
- When selecting seats through the app/website, consumers will be given 10 minutes to complete the purchasing process. This may be updated at any time. Failure to complete the transaction within this time frame may result in the release of the selected seats.
- Reservations are disabled/cancelled half an hour before the show. Consumers must exercise their reservations at the Box Office accordingly. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the reservation. Additionally, new reservations cannot be added one hour prior to and after the show has started.
- Mid Town Cinemas reserves the right to cancel any bookings that they believe were placed with improper motives or patterns without any prior information to the holder. This includes but is not limited to suspected fraudulent activity or bulk buying for resale purposes.
- Promotional or complimentary vouchers must be redeemed in person at the cinema box office and cannot be applied to advance online ticket purchases. Vouchers bearing an expiration date must be redeemed on or prior to that date. Unless stated otherwise, vouchers may not be used in conjunction with any promotion or special event.
A.3. Admission Rules
- Rights of admission are reserved. Mid Town Cinemas reserves the right to refuse admission in reasonable circumstances including for health, safety and licensing reasons or where a ticket is void.
- Entry is allowed only for valid ticket holders.
- Security searches are a condition of entry to protect the safety of all customers and staff. The Cinema may conduct searches of clothing, bags and other items on entry and exit at the theatre. Mid Town Cinemas thanks customers in advance for their co-operation.
- A separate ticket is required for all admissions (including children) above 3 feet in height.
- The Cinema reserves the right to request proof of age for admittance to age-restricted films or events (e.g., PG 13 and Adult 16 certificates). Photographic identification, such as ID cards, citizenship, a driving license or passport, may be required. A PG rating requires Parental Guidance accordingly.
- Every effort will be made to accommodate latecomers, but to avoid disturbance to other guests, the Cinema reserves the right to refuse admission to guests arriving more than 30 minutes after the main feature has started, and they may not be entitled to a refund. Latecomers may be asked to wait until a suitable break in the show before being admitted.
- Tickets must be in possession when leaving the auditorium during a show to be sure of readmission. The Cinema reserves the right to refuse re-entry if there are concerns about the authenticity of the ticket or the behavior of the individual.
- If a ticket is purchased online in advance and admittance cannot be granted to the event because the cinema has, for whatever reason, been filled to capacity when the ticket is collected, the cinema will issue a refund of the purchase price of the ticket or a voucher of equivalent value for a future show. In no event shall the cinema be liable in such circumstances for more than the value of the ticket price (e.g., travel costs).
A.4. Conduct and Behavior
- Customers are required to abide by the policies laid down by Mid Town Cinemas Management. This includes respecting other patrons, staff members, and the cinema property.
- Customers must sit in the seat indicated on their ticket. Seats can only be exchanged by arrangement with the staff and if the allocated seat is damaged or dirty. If you refuse to sit in the allocated seat, you may be asked to leave the venue and denied a refund.
- Any antisocial or disruptive behavior (loud, noisy, unruly, arguing, disturbing other customers and staff, physically violent, confrontational, using obscene language, demonstrating improper behavior, or vomiting) or continuing behavior likely to disrupt the enjoyment of other guests will result in immediate removal from the premises without refund.
- In the event of a group disturbance, the group will be treated as one, and the whole group may be removed from the cinema.
- Animals/Pets are not permitted inside the Cinema.
- Children must sit in their purchased seat throughout the movie.
- In the interests of other customers, parents or guardians may be asked to take noisy or disruptive children out of the auditorium. No ticket refund will be given. Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times.
- The Cinema maintains a completely smoke-free and tobacco-free environment throughout its premises. This prohibition extends to e-cigarettes and vaping devices.
- No illegal substances may be brought onto or consumed on the premises. Violators will be ejected without refund and may be reported to the police.
- The Cinema reserves the right to conduct searches if illegal substance use is suspected.
- Customers under the influence of alcohol or clearly intoxicated may be denied admission or asked to leave the premises. The judgment of intoxication is at the discretion of Cinema staff.
- Any guest found in possession of a weapon, or an item that staff believe is being carried as a weapon, shall be ejected from the premises without refund. Staff may report the matter to the police if deemed appropriate. At the discretion of staff, personal items deemed to be a potential risk may be confiscated from guests and returned once the guests leave the premises.
- Verbal or physical abuse or attack of the Cinema's staff will not be tolerated. Such behavior will result in immediate ejection without refund. The Cinema will seek to prosecute individuals or groups who engage in this behavior to the fullest extent of the law. This includes threats, intimidation, and any form of discriminatory behavior.
- The Cinema reserves the right to refuse entry to individuals who are not appropriately dressed. This includes, but is not limited to, offensive clothing or lack of footwear.
A.5. Food and Beverages Rules and Restrictions
- Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the Cinema premises. Any such items may be confiscated upon entry and will not be returned.
- If a customer requires the use of their own water bottle due to specific medical needs, they are requested to consult with a member of the Cinema management upon arrival.
- Pre-booked food and beverages must be collected from the designated online F&B counter.
- To collect your order, present the QR code generated on your phone upon completion of the ordering process.
- This QR code is necessary for order verification.
- Payment must be completed through the secure online payment services available at the Cinema. All sales are final.
- Refunds, exchanges, or cancellations are not permitted except in cases of order fulfillment errors or other issues directly caused by the Cinema.
- It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the order details are accurate before finalizing the purchase. The Cinema is not liable for incorrect orders due to customer error.
- The Cinema is not responsible or liable for any allergies or dietary restrictions. Customers are advised to review ingredient information and consult with Cinema staff if they have any concerns.
- All food and beverage purchases are subject to the Cinema’s policies, including any restrictions on outside food and drink.
A.6. Cinema Rules and Restrictions
- Plastic bags are not allowed within the premises. Large gym bags and other bulky objects that may obstruct movement between rows are also prohibited.
- Customers are advised against bringing large suitcases or bags to the theatre, as admission of such items may be restricted, and the availability of drop-off counters, storage, or baggage facilities cannot be assured. The Cinema accepts no liability or responsibility for the misplacement or theft of property or items left at the baggage counter.
- The Cinema reserves the right to prohibit any item it deems unsuitable or potentially disruptive.
- Using cell phones is prohibited inside the movie Cinema. Customers are requested to exit the auditorium to attend phone calls. All electronic devices must be switched off or put on silent mode during the screening.
- The use of recording devices of any kind is strictly prohibited.
- It is prohibited to intentionally damage or destroy the property of the Cinema, including placing feet on the cinema seats. In the event of damage to Mid Town Cinema's property by visitors, a penalty will be imposed based on the extent of the damage. The Cinema reserves the right to seek compensation for any damage incurred.
- The Cinema reserves the right to deny ticket sales to individuals who are inadequately dressed, have serious hygiene issues, or are intoxicated and under the influence. This policy is enforced to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all customers.
- Cinema reserves the right to require compulsory wearing of masks at all times, including during showtimes, and may deny entry to visitors not wearing masks if required to do so, especially during a pandemic. The specific requirements may change based on current health guidelines and regulations.
A.7. Technical and Operational Considerations
- Each show at Mid Town includes a 15-minute interval. This may be subject to change in accordance with the timings between each show.
- The Cinema will endeavor to ensure that films are shown in accordance with advertised schedules. However, the cinema reserves the right to cancel a showing, substitute an alternative film, or vary the time of showings if forced to do so by circumstances beyond their control, providing refunds or replacement tickets when applicable. In no event shall the cinema be liable in such circumstances for more than the value of the ticket price.
- The Cinema reserves the right to cancel a film showing or other event, either before or after it has commenced, if circumstances develop that render continuation impossible, impractical (e.g., failure of electronic components), or present a real or potential risk to guests, staff, or the premises.
- Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to, technical failures, equipment malfunctions, fire, power outages, security threats, or other force majeure events. In such instances, the Cinema will, at its discretion, provide customers with replacement tickets or vouchers for an equivalent screening or event at a future date. The Cinema shall not be liable for any additional costs or inconveniences incurred by customers as a result of such cancellations or interruptions. While every reasonable effort will be made to notify customers of cancellations in advance where possible, immediate action may be necessary without prior notice in cases of unforeseen circumstances or emergencies.
- The Cinema provides 3D glasses for applicable screenings, subject to an additional charge. This charge will be clearly communicated at the point of sale. These must be returned in satisfactory condition upon exiting the premises. In the event of loss, damage, or failure to return the 3D glasses, customers will be subject to charges in accordance with the Cinema's current policies.
A.8. Intellectual Property and Recording
- Unauthorized filming of movies using a camera, mobile phones, tablets, etc. is strictly prohibited inside cinemas, and such acts may be punishable offenses.
- Sound and video recording equipment and cameras are not permitted inside the auditorium.
- It is a serious criminal offense to copy or attempt to copy any film or other copyrighted material shown in the auditorium. Such crime is punishable on conviction with an unlimited fine and imprisonment.
A.9. Liability and Disclaimers
- Any comments or complaints regarding the view from a seat or the audibility of the showing should be made promptly to a member of the Cinema management before or during the show.
- Mid Town Cinemas management shall not responsible nor liable for the theft, damage, or loss of personal belongings. Guests must always keep their personal belongings with them.
- Any items of lost property that come into the possession of the Cinema will be held for customer collection for a period of 28 calendar days. The Cinema is not obligated to attempt to contact the owners of lost property. After 28 calendar days, unclaimed items will be handed over to the nearest police station. Customers may inquire at the Cinema regarding the location of the relevant police station.
- The Cinema accepts no responsibility for information displayed or broadcast on the premises by any third party.
- Mid Town Cinemas shall not be liable for any incident caused by an act of God, insurrection or civil disorder, war or military operations, national or local emergency, compliance of any kind including fire, lightning, explosion, flood, subsistence, weather of exceptional severity, or any event outside of its reasonable control.
- Under no circumstances, save personal injury or death resulting from its negligence, shall the cinema be liable to the purchaser of the entry ticket for more than the purchase price of the ticket.
- In the event of a lost or misplaced ticket, a duplicate ticket will be issued only if the customer can provide the show time and seat number and can satisfactorily prove their claim to the original ticket to the management.
A.10. Data Protection and Privacy
- Customers are hereby notified that CCTV monitoring of the inside and the outside of the premises may take place for the purpose of protecting guests, staff, and property.

A.11. Enforcement
- The Cinema reserves the right to decline selling cinema tickets to persons who have previously violated the in-house rules and regulations or who have been caught in embezzlement attempts.
- The Cinema reserves the right to confiscate tickets and eject from the cinema any person who tries to embezzle the cinema operator.
- Without prejudice to any other rights it may have, in the event that a visitor(s) breaches any of these Terms and Conditions, the Cinema reserves the right to take all appropriate action to avoid a recurrence and to recover any costs incurred. This may include a temporary or permanent exclusion from the Cinema premises and any appropriate legal action.
- The Cinema reserves the right to request that guests open bags and jackets for inspection and may refuse admission to guests who refuse to comply with such a request.
- The Cinema reserves the right to request that customers provide a Government-issued ID card (physical or digital) for verification purposes at any time on the premises, including for safety and security reasons.
- In the event of an evacuation of the cinema for any reason, guests must follow the instructions of staff to ensure a safe and orderly exit from the premises.
- The Cinema may use infrared cameras to detect unauthorized recordings. By entering the cinema, you consent to your image being captured for this purpose.
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Cinema is located. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
By using Mid Town Cinemas ‘Sites and Services’ or purchasing a ticket or services or entering the Cinema premises, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use Mid Town Cinemas ‘Sites and Services’ or purchase a ticket or services or enter the Cinema premises.
